These are pieces that I have been playing with that I haven’t made the this is a “line” commitment to. They are explorations into possibles, here maybe today-gone tomorrow. Haiku Plates
Some time ago I took a Creative Writing class and got hooked on writing Haiku poems. Nothing in the same universe as the lofty and meaningful as the Japanese master, way more spontaneous playful responses to nature, usually as I am cycling to work. So I wanted to make some plates and needed to make them uniquely mine so I merged the 2 and TA DA! Hope you like them, tell me what you think at the bottom in “comments”.
Made this some time ago, loved it and have played at developing it (see When Opening the Kiln is a Delight post). It has a raw feeling like it came out of an archaeology dig.Wind Chimes
Love the idea of wind chimes, mixing wind with human creations, so it was inevitable that I start making them. But faced with what to use to make the sound, I was flummoxed. As I was poking around in my vast array of hoarded “stuff” I discovered the box of keys I bought years ago at a yard sale and just knew I would find a use for them “some day“. Well that day came when I listened to them “chime”. Yah! The Buddha has been hands down the most popular but the others have received a warm welcome as well.
